WHO WE ARE

Siklab Philippine Indigenous Youth Network is a national formation of Indigenous Youth in the Philippines, working on solidifying the solidarity among Indigenous Youth, and having the latter realize their important role and capacity in decision-making and assertion of their rights as youth and Indigenous Peoples.

HISTORY

2009: Resolution to create a Philippine Indigenous Youth Network by regional and national Indigenous Peoples organizations.
2014: Establishment of Siklab Philippine Indigenous Youth Network, a national formation of Indigenous Youth in the country, aiming to solidify the unity amongst Indigenous Youth for the defense of ancestral lands and right to self-determination.

OUR PRINCIPLES

Principle of Justice. Through listening to the situation Indigenous Communities being one of the marginalized groups in the country to uphold equality and equity.
Principle of Diversity. Through imparting the importance of diversity particularly with regard to gender and age gap, and empower them the importance of their distinct roles in the community.
Principles of inclusion. Through conducting a prior assessment of the community to ensure the background of each family at the minimum. This poses importance to ensure that no one is left behind.

VISION

Siklab Philippine Indigenous Youth Network envisions a strengthened indigenous youth movement proactively engaging with issues concerning their rights to ancestral land and self-determination. Through capacity-building activities and community engagements, Siklab strives to achieve a future where indigenous youth have empowered themselves by actively asserting their rights in pursuit of peaceful coexistence with the environment. Valuing the role of consciousness-raising and politicization through education, Siklab hopes to see more indigenous youth showing greater appreciation of their vital role in developing their communities .

MISSION

To empower Indigenous Youth to assert their rights;
To bring together youth into a national Indigenous Youth movement;
To exchange information, knowledge, and experiences among Indigenous Youth; and
To increase the capacity and skills of Indigenous Youth.
